General anesthesia is used to ensure patient comfort. Abdominoplasties are performed through an incision made horizontally from hip to hip. This incision will be made low, near your pubic area, so that the scar can be easily concealed. Dr. Marchant will then contour your skin, remove fat, and tighten muscles for a slimmer look. Drainage tubes may be placed under your skin for removal a few days following the surgery. Abdominoplasty patients remain sore for several weeks after treatment, but most are extremely satisfied with the results, which they will enjoy for a lifetime with proper care.
Women with stretched-out skin from pregnancy and those who have lost significant amounts of weight can benefit from this surgery.
